The public areas boast magnificent historic architecture that captures the essence of a bygone era. Positioned at the top of the main street, it provides easy access to local shops and restaurants.
I found the rooms tired and in need of some serious decoration-a few pieces of furniture felt cramped, and some basic amenities were underwhelming. The absence of a fridge in premium rooms was a letdown, especially when wanting to keep items cold for a hike. The breakfast area lacked enough seating, leading to longer waits and a bustling atmosphere that might not suit everyone's taste.

too bad that we didn't have time, but we would book again. the hotel was reasonably clean based in an elegant style building with especially helpful staff. the room was brand-new & pet-friendly, came with a bath and extra bed, for example.

historic charm close to fine garden areas
I appreciated the easy stroll to the Pavilion Gardens, where I soaked in the beautiful landscape, and I was also just a few minutes away from the Buxton Museum and Art Gallery. As a single traveler, I found the hotel comfortable and affordable for a one-night stopover, perfect for leisurely city walks.

Breakfast was very good, beds are super pleasant.
Bathroom very narrow and old/ For older people showering in the bathtub may be dangerous

It was just a fine choice for a weekend break in Buxton (Derbyshire) with attractive and competitive value for money. The cold bathroom was a downside, but we managed to sleep okay with the extra blanket provided. For a pleasant stay, consider bringing your own drinks as the service felt disorganized during meals.

Spotlessly clean place & affable staff in contrast to initial receptionist. Easy location in Buxton close enough to the railway station, the Peak District and bars/restaurants. Also, right next to the Opera House.
Beds were not comfortable.

Couples looking for a romantic getaway
We booked a double room and were very kinda surprised to be allocated the Devonshire Suite. It was a pleasant experience! The quality of the 3 course meal included was awesome, staff there were nice and accommodating, but yeah, a bit too eager sometimes, but better than waiting too long, right?
It wasn't exactly cheap but acceptable considering the quality we got.
